“Louis Moreau Gottschalk’s Americana“ Gottschalk’s Musical Journey from Stephen Foster and James Hewitt’s Influences to his own Influences on Early Ragtime and Jazz” Dr. Jeremy Craft with the Lynchburg Singers, a UofL Chorus singing Foster and Gottschalk; Concert Pianist Naomi Amos narrating the concert and playing Hewitt and Gottschalk; ”Soulsters“ Ann Mitchell and Ronnie Shoultz singing Creole melodies; and renowned jazz pianist Dr. Weldon Hill with double bassist Michael Hawkins illustrating Gottschalk's influences on ragtime and early jazz.

“Gifts of Art” THROUGH ITS PRESENTERS CONSORTIUM FOR JAZZ PROGRAM.
Two major virtual jazz concerts will be streamed from New York studios and made available for the purpose of reducing stress, decreasing isolation and building resilience in individuals particularly affected by COVID-19. These include medical and non-medical staff, patients, families and volunteersd in hospitals and nursing facilities, “learners” (medical and nursing students). The concerts will also be streamed to individuals with disabilities or illnesses who are receiving home-delivered meals and home health services, as well as to their caregivers.
