Sat., August 31: TSB Jazz Amherst Java & Jazz premiere performance for 2024-2025 A new name for a favorite trio, led by keyboardist and vocalist Lew Taylor, with veteran drummer Larry Scott and Charlottesville-based bassist Bob Bowen. Sat., September 28: Isaac Williams Piano Ensemble The concert will include some songs in memory of Isaac’s mentor and friend, Jane Baber White, some Isaac Williams premieres, and a little “street” music. Isaac Williams, piano; Charles Bailey, electric bass; Brian Cox, drums. Sat., October 26, 6-8 pm: Quintana All-Stars Al Mallet, alto and tenor sax; Ernest Deane, trumpet and flugelhorn; Ed Mikenas, bass; Glenn Buck, woodwinds; Gary Meisner, piano; and Worth Proffitt, drums. Sat., November 23, 6-8 pm: Ken and His Rhythm Changers Ken Matthews, saxophone and clarinet; Dwight Spencer, guitar; Ken Brand, drums; and Bob Bowen, bass. The group will play an autumn smorgasbord of jazz classics. Sat., February 22, 6-8 pm: Isaac Williams Piano Ensemble Sat., March 29, 6-8 pm: Patti Finn Quartet Lynchburg's favorite chanteuse, Patti Finn, and her quartet, featuring Ed Mikenas and Glenn Buck, offer an exciting evening of soundscapes, including a unique mix of popular and unexpected jazz charts, torch songs, and more! Sat., April 26, 6-8 pm: Quantum Mechanics Ed Mikenas, console steel guitar; Worth Proffitt, drums and percussion; Andy Aeschbacher, bass Sat., May 24, 6-8 pm: TSB Jazz Keyboardist and vocalist Lew Taylor, veteran drummer Larry Scott and Charlottesville-based bassist Bob Bowen. The trio will play Jazz standards, Memorial Day favorites and original tunes by Lew Taylor and by Bob Bowen. Sat., June 28, 6-8 pm: Gary Meisner Trio Gary Meisner, piano and arranger; Ernest Deane, trumpet; Andy Aeschbacher, bass. Gary brings his skills as a well-known arranger to a mix of popular and little-known classics of the 1930s to the1980s. |
