Amherst Java & Jazz premiere performance for 2024-2025
A new name for a favorite trio, led by keyboardist and vocalist Lew Taylor, with veteran drummer Larry Scott and Charlottesville-based bassist Bob Bowen.  

Sat., September 28: Isaac Williams Piano Ensemble
The concert will include some songs in memory of Isaac’s mentor and friend, Jane Baber White, some Isaac Williams premieres, and a little “street” music. Isaac Williams, piano; Charles Bailey, electric bass; Brian Cox, drums.
 
Sat., October 26, 6-8 pm: Quintana All-Stars
Al Mallet, alto and tenor sax; Ernest Deane, trumpet and flugelhorn; Ed Mikenas, bass; Glenn Buck, woodwinds; Gary Meisner, piano; and Worth Proffitt, drums.
 
Sat., November 23, 6-8 pm: Ken and His Rhythm Changers
Ken Matthews, saxophone and clarinet; Dwight Spencer, guitar; Ken Brand, drums; and Bob Bowen, bass. The group will play an autumn smorgasbord of jazz classics.
