Presented February 5, 2025, by AGAR and Sweet Briar College, this interview took place live and on zoom in Pannell Gallery of Sweet Briar College. Interviewers were Dwana Waugh, PhD, Sweet Briar College associate professor in the history department, and Gloria Witt, past president of the NAACP Amherst County Branch.
The book “Homegoing” concerns 300 years of a family's history, beginning in Ghana in the 18th century, and tracing various family members through slavery, slave-owning, and travels to London, Alabama and New York in the 20th Century.
