Since 2022, Baltimore bass clarinetist Todd Marcus and Toronto clarinetist Virginia MacDonald have been performing and touring together across the United States and Canada with their quintet. Their work together presents a lush ensemble that showcases the range of beauty and power by the clarinet in a modern jazz context, with repertoire comprised of original compositions by both bandleaders. They have performed at jazz festivals and prominent venues internationally including Smalls Jazz Club, the Toronto Jazz Festival, the International Clarinet Association, and the Baltimore Museum of Art.
Marcus and MacDonald have filled the gap for the clarinet in modern jazz with their unique solo and compositional voices and have established a prominence and an international reputation on their instruments in jazz today. Their musical partnership showcases the versatility of the clarinet and captures audiences with a new and unique musical experience.

Storyteller Sheila Arnold portrays an enslaved nursemaid who tells her favorite folk tales to the daughters of Thomas and Martha Jefferson at Monticello in the late 18th Century. Jefferson’s daughters wrote these stories down and they have been revived by Sheila Arnold, who tells them much as they would have been
heard back then. Fiddler David McCormick of Early Music Access Project in Charlottesville plays folk tunes that his research leads him to believe were played by Hemings and Scott family musicians. These fiddlers were relatives of Sally Hemings who were black, indigenous and European musicians and popular for their playing at early 18th-Century dances, parties and dinners in Monticello and Charlottesville. Together Sheila Arnold and David McCormick bring the stories and music to life from enslaved and free storytellers and folk musicians at Monticello.

Paddy, well known regionally as the voice of the award winning band, Mainstreet Rhythm & Blues, spent time on the road as a backup singer for national bluesman, David Bromberg. She had several of her songs fully orchestrated by legendary arranger, Charles Callelo and performed in concert with the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and Rita Coolidge. For five years, she toured as a songwriter with Kid Pan Alley writing hundreds of songs for thousands of children. After nearly thirty years of teaching music, Paddy retired from the classroom to return to the stage with consummate musicians Larry Scott, Glenn Buck and RobinTolley.
